Message From The Chairs
Philanthropy enriches the lives
of all of us. For those of us involved with Orange County’s
vibrant nonprofit community, National Philanthropy Day has
always provided a wonderful opportunity to come together to
honor those who give so generously. No matter the level of
giving, when one makes a gift to a nonprofit organization, the
entire community benefits. This is the essence of National
Philanthropy Day – a day to recognize and acknowledge those who
make a difference.
As co-chairs of the 23rd Annual
National Philanthropy Day Luncheon on Wednesday, November 19,
2008, we are pleased to invite you to participate in our
community-wide celebration by nominating a special donor,
volunteer or organization for a Spirit of Philanthropy Award.
There are hundreds of individuals and organizations who deserve
recognition for their philanthropic spirit; therefore it is
important that you take the time – now – to submit your
nomination.
The deadline for nominations
was 5 p.m.,
Friday, June 27, 2008.
Proceeds from the Spirit of Philanthropy Awards Luncheon
provide scholarship and educational programs to the Orange
County Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals
to support their mission to advance philanthropy through
education, training, advocacy and leadership.
On behalf of AFP, Honorary Co-Chairs Susan & Jim Swenson and
Janet & Walkie Ray, and our sponsors, we look forward to seeing
you on Wednesday, November 19th at the Anaheim Marriott for an
uplifting and inspirational afternoon.
Sincerely,
|
