Nominations Process,
Rules & Judging Criteria
A distinguished panel of
community leaders, philanthropists, past Honorees and nonprofit
professionals will judge the 2008 Spirit of Philanthropy Award
nominations.
Nomination Criteria
Includes:
- Nominee(s) clearly meet(s) Award category
requirements in which they have been nominated
- A proven commitment to philanthropy through
personal involvement
- Evidence of direct personal support, including the
impact of the nominee’s financial and/or volunteer
contributions
- Evidence of dedication, innovation, creativity and
vision
- Extraordinary achievement, accomplishment or
benefit to the community
- Outstanding leadership in providing inspiration or
motivation for the actions of others
About The Required
Essay:
- Spirit of Philanthropy -
Lifetime Achievement Award:
Please provide an
essay that clearly demonstrates the Nominee’s long-term (10
years or more) involvement with one or more Orange County
organizations. National and/or international philanthropic
involvements will be appropriately considered, but will not
substitute for local involvement.
- General Awards:
Please provide an essay that clearly describes the Nominee’s
philanthropic leadership or performance that merits this award.
Provide examples of the Nominees activities and antidotes that
illustrate the effect the Nominee’s service has had on the
Orange County community, the national or international
community.
- Essays should be 1-2 pages, 12pt. typed, single spaced with
1-inch margins.
Letters Of Support:
- Collaborative letters of support may also be submitted online
at www.npdoc.org in the essay field.
Nominations Deadline:
- All nominations must be received in the AFP offices
by 5 P.M., Friday, June 27, 2008.
