Rules And Judging Criteria For Submission

A distinguished panel of community leaders, philanthropists, past Honorees and nonprofit professionals will judge submissions. Honorees must meet the following criteria:

  • Clearly meet(s) Award category requirements in which they have been nominated
  • A proven commitment to philanthropy through personal involvement
  • Evidence of direct personal support, including the financial impact and/or volunteer contributions
  • Evidence of dedication, innovation, creativity and vision
  • Extraordinary achievement, accomplishment or benefit to the community
  • Outstanding leadership in providing inspiration or motivation for the actions of others

Lifetime Achievement Award: Honorees must clearly demonstrate a (10 years or more) involvement with one or more Orange County organizations. National and/or international philanthropic involvements will be appropriately considered, but will not substitute for local involvement.

All Awards: Using the online form, describe the Honoree's philanthropic leadership or performance that merits the award. It is helpful to describe examples of activities and antidotes that illustrate the effect the Honoree’s service has had on the Orange County, national and/or international communities.

Supporting materials (within page limits) may also be submitted online or mailed.

Nominations Deadline:

  • All nominations must be received in the AFPOC offices by 5 p.m., Monday, June 15, 2009.

Property of AFPOC:

  • All materials become the property of AFPOC to be utilized in whatever manner it chooses. No materials will be returned to you. Posthumous nominations will not be accepted.
