For Victoria Collins, empowering women has been the passion and theme behind her philanthropic efforts, impacting thousands locally and globally. Over 15 years ago, Dr. Collins founded WISE (Women Investing in Security and Education) dedicated to educating girls about financial literacy. WISE collaborates with many organizations, including the Girl Scouts and their Cookie Rally, serving 16,000 girls annually. A Girl Scout alumna, Dr. Collins was honored at Girl Scouts of Orange County’s 2012 Celebrate Leadership Gala for her outstanding contributions in the financial services field. Dr. Collins was also a founder of United Way’s Women’s Philanthropy Fund in 2002, which has raised $1.4M for local programs to help women and their families. Human Options is another organization Dr. Collins supports, serving on their board since 2002, including as board president in 2009-2010. Victoria and her husband, David, received Human Options’ Dove Award in 2005, and also chaired the organization’s Serious Fun Gala for two years, doubling prior years’ event revenues. Additionally, Dr. Collins was among the five founders of the Women’s International Loan Fund, supporting micro-enterprise for women in developing countries. She is the author of six books on managing wealth and legacy, and has been named among the “250 Best Financial Advisors in the USA” by Worth magazine. Victoria received the Outstanding Philanthropist at the 2013 National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon.
